Friday Fun

The kids have only been out of school for 2 days, and want to be out and about constantly. Today is Naysa's party, which should be lots of fun for Kaylie. Naysa is actually Liam's friend from Kindergarten. It is a girly birthday party...princesses party. Poor Liam, besides Naysa's 4 year old brother, he was the only boy in this age range there. Danielle, one of Liam's girlfriends from class was there, with her 10 year old brother. Altogether there were 3 boys amongst 12 girls.

The kids ate pizza and drank juice/soda. They had a brownie cake and cupcakes. They each got tiaras to decorate as they pleased. The most fun part for the girls was MAKEUP time. They each got their own makeup kit. They sat on a chair as some of the mothers quickly applied the makeup up to their faces, applied stick-on earrings and dabbed a bit of perfume. They got a magical wand, bracelets, lip gloss and other little delightful trinkets.

The party ended with a live presentation of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Natalia, Naysa's mom, had the foresight to reserve the front row seating for all of us at the party. During the last show, the presenter even called out Naysa's and Ariana's names as birthday girls, who got a round of applause from all present.

The show was wonderful. It was Kaylie's and Liam's first time watching a live show, which they enjoyed immensely. Of course, I was taking pictures of the whole thing. The actors did a fabulous job and their performance was outstanding. They even invited the kids to the front so they could meet them and dance, if they wanted to.

I took the kids to meet the actors, who gracefully posed for pictures. Kaylie only wanted to have her picture taken with the female performers, while Liam only wanted to have his picture taken with the male performers.

A point worth mentioning is that Liam totally loved the performances and was humming along to the music. As I was congratulating each of the ensemble cast members, Liam was listening to my congratulatory spiel so that when we went to see "Sleeping Beauty" he told her that she had done a "fabulous job." Her smile was so big and heartwarming that I couldn't help but to smile at the both of them. :) The actors were all so very charming and deserving of the praise they were getting. I for one can't wait to go back to see other performances.

Did I tell you I took over 300 photos? I will try to post pictures later, if not tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend! 496
