Summer 2008 Mini Album

The minute I saw Chasing Leaves by Berna at the SBG store I fell in love with it. The gorgeous colors and illustrations are fabulous...I couldn't resist. Then, Janet Phillips, create a mini album template set, which called my name, thus my Summer 2008 Mini Album was born.

What Font Are You?

You Are Palatino

You consider yourself to be creative and artistic.
And you'd like everyone else to know it! (not true in my case)

You take design and aesthetics seriously.

You like everything in your life to be unique and beautiful - but never gaudy! (so true!...the gaudy part)

Allergy Testing is Not Fun!

Poor Liam. I took him to the allergist today for testing. The first photo shows all the spots where he was tested with different allergens. I had to sit him on my lap (straddle) so I could hold his hands to keep him from scratching. After 20 minutes, 4 spots were positive for allergens. The doctor then did another round of testing, but this time they were using syringes so Liam did not tolerate this test at all. He was scheduled for 11 syringes but only did 4. Boy did he cry. My poor baby was so upset because the syringes had to be injected in between the skin so they really hurt. Anyway, it turns out that he is allergic to trees, grass, wool and ragweed. He will now be on 2 medications to try to control his allergies. Crossing my fingers that the newest medications will do the trick and he won't miss out on school as much this year.

And yes, I had to document this for his scrapbook...:) I am foremost a scrapper of little memories, and this is one of them, right?

Oh, before I forget, Kaylie was in the waiting area, but the minute she heard Liam crying she came over to inquire about his welfare. Isn't she the sweetest girl ever? She likes to mother him. In fact, dh thinks that She and I are driving Liam nuts. :)

Liam pushed them so hard that he the video to see it live. :)

My friend Elizabeth started a new job yesterday so I took care of her active 8 year old for a few hours yesterday.

The kids love to play with you can see here.

Talk to you all later. I am taking care of Emanuel again and Liam has an appt. with the allergist at 9:00 a.m. I am off with 3 kids in tow...2 of which happen to be very active boys.

A Mother's Treasure

I don't have much time to post today, but this wordart by the gifted BETHANY was perfect for my photo. :) Now, if I could only get her to do one for a boy, I will be set.

Thank you, Becky, for your kind comments on my photos. As for yesterday's photos, I have a tiny video of the duck at the lake, want to see it? Then you will really feel like you were there. :)

Out for a Walk at Smithville Lake

Kaylie is loving her shorter (and lighter) haircut.

I see dirt...I can't control myself...I must grab dirt...
Who cares if I am wearing light colored clothes!
I must play with dirt

See me play with dirt...smooth as silk.

Curiosity...I wonder what is on the other side...

Do you have any crumbs for me?
This guy can always be found swimming at the lake. He must be used to people feeding him as he always comes really close. He can always hope, can't he?

These are just a few of the photos I took today. Kaylie loves spending time at the lake so I take her there often. She likes to play with dirt and throw pebbles in the lake.
In case you are wondering, Liam wanted to stay home to watch the Spongebob movie.

New Haircut

Before - photo taken a few days ago. Notice the massive amt. of hair...

After - photo taken an hour ago. She looks so grown-up. I had the hairdresser cut half of her hair off and add some layers to cut down on the bulk.
I bought some new hair products to test on her hair...I expect those gorgeous brown curls to curl for me.

Ear aches, pediatrician, tomatoes, pharmacy, Walmart

The black on his lips is chocolate.

Tomatoes from my garden...aren't they luscious looking? They are so juicy...freshly picked!

Poor Liam can't catch a break. I took him to the allergist 12 days ago; she discovered an ear infection. He was on antibiotics for 10 days 3 times a day. On day 11 I discovered that his ear was swollen. I took him again, and sure enough, he has another ear infection. More heavy duty antibiotics for him. He also has a rash on his stomach. I called the pediatrician and they asked me to come in through the side door, straight into a room. I guess they do that with all patients that could be contagious. It was the fastest visit ever! In and out in less than 20 minutes!

I also switched prescriptions from Walmart to Stine's Apothecary. Stine's is the only small hometown pharmacy that will compound medicines, etc. on demand. Unlike Walmart. If you recall, many weeks back Kaylie was having stomach troubles. The pediatrician recommended an antibiotic that had to be compounded. It was faxed over to Walmart. The following day I called Walmart to ask if it was wasn't. They then proceeded to tell me that it had to be compounded and they don't do that. When exactly where they planning to tell me this? Walmart's pharmacy in Lumberton sucks big time, not that the Burlington Twp. branch is better.

CVS does not offer better service either. I recall when I was pregnant with Liam that I needed a certain type of insulin due to my gestational diabetes. You know that if you have diabetes being up to date with supplies and dosages is of the upmost importance. Anyway, I stop by to pick up the prescription at which time they told me that they didn't have it and they didn't know when they would be getting it in. That was the last time I got my prescriptions there.

I remember that I used to get my rx at Goldy's pharmany, which got taken over by CVS. Then Walmart moved in, and now we have a Walgreens, too. All of the small town pharmacies have been taken over by big merchants. Until now. I will take my business to Stines who offers far better customer service than Walmart. I only have to wait 10 minutes and the pharmacist takes the time to actually talk to me like a human being and not someone that they have to rush out the door.

Anyway, here is a shot of poor Liam. After we got out of the doctor's office, I took him to Dunkin Donuts for a small treat. It's the least I could do to help him feel better.

What A Day for A Daydream

Hey Sis!

Now you can see the kids live! Be sure to show it to David, too.

I took the kids to Long Bridge Park for a walk today. One of their favorite spots is the Rancocas Creek. They use walking sticks to splash the water around...innocent fun for them.

I was taking picture of the kids and decided to try out the video making feature on my camera. Wow, am I surprised at the quality! You'll be seeing a lot more vignettes now that I know how it works. :)

Did you know that Scrapbook-Graphics' collaborative (a/k/a mega) kits and quick page albums, normally $10 to $15.00 USD, are on sale for $5.00?

Hurry on over to the store before the sale ends! 1205

Pretty Dress

Every summer Kaylie has a favorite dress. This year there are 2 that she absolutely loves. This is the pink one with flowers. I love the way the greenish blue dress with red flowers looks on her...she wore it last can view it here.

Meeting My Namesake

Dad, Aunt and cousins

My Dad and his sister, my namesake.

Dad came over the house yesterday for a visit. He brought his sister, my aunt, along, as well as her children, my cousins. Last time I saw her I was 14 years old, I am now almost 42. Her sons are well-mannered and friendly. One of my cousins is a photography enthusiast, just like me. The above photos are not the best because I had to rush. I guess they are better than nothing, right?
