Today I am feeling so utterly alone and helpless. I am having such a hard time dealing with Liam.
At 6, he is super bright, but can't seem to follow directions. At times, he does strange and dangerous things for no apparent reason. Yesterday, I got a note from his teacher telling me that Liam was sticking the pencil in his ear and leaving it there to hold in place. When I asked him why he did that, his answer was, "I was bored." I know that I am an adult, but never in a million years would I stick a pencil in my ear no matter how bored I was.
Today, I got a call from his music teacher. Liam just won't listen and is all over the place. Can't sit still and wants to walk around. Music class is one of his favorite subjects and Mrs. Surrency is an affable teacher that Liam loves to pieces.
He does not want to follow directions, has a bad temper, is very stubborn, thinks he is right all of the time and knows better than anyone else and has no concerns for anyone other than himself.
Often, I have thought that he must have ADD, but he can focus on things when he wants. If he doesn't want to, then forget it. He can sit still when playing his video game or when watching a favorite cartoon or show. I know that he wants to do well. I know he wants his classmates to like him. I know he wants to behave at home and not be so impulsive. I am thinking that maybe he must have some type of neurological disorder such as Asperger's.
I have scheduled an appointment with the pediatrician to try to get him help. I am really leery of medicating children but if there is something that can help him calm down enough to concentrate on his work and social skills, then so be it. My heart is so heavy right now and crying doesn't help. I just want what's best for him.
I got to go get some forms from his pediatrician to fill out in time for his evaluation next month. Thank you for listening. 2840

Death spares noone
Kaylie has been sooooo sad. She came home on Monday with the news that one of her 8-year old classmates had died on January 1st. Alyssa suffered from asthma and died as a result of same. The open casket viewing was yesterday. I just couldn't bring myself to go to that viewing. It is bad enough to see an adult dead, let alone a child.
Fortunately, they have counselors on hand that will be able to help the children deal with this untimely event. 2625

Did You Know That Janet Phillips is Closing Her Store?
Public Service Announcement:
Janet Phillips, who is a template maker at Scrapbookgraphics, is closing her store. If you are at all interested in any of her designs, be sure to BUY HER FINAL GRABBAG. You only pay $4.00 for some wonderful templates, but you also get a coupon to discount 70 percent off of anything that you buy. If that doesn't entice you, there is another coupon in there that you will be very happy to see...trust me on that one!
No, I am not her ct, but I do know a good deal when I see one and if I can enable any of you hard-at-work-short-on-time-scrappers, then my good deed of the day is done. ;)

Project 365: Jan 4th
Halo, is there anyone out there that wants to chat with me?
This is another shot of her that I love. I straightened out her hair yesterday so her ponytails free flow and don't curl up. One of her gifts was a craft set so she could make her own jewerly. She is sporting a new necklace she made. She loves to gab on the phone and was working it good for this photoshoot. :)
Jan 4th - 8 Years Old
I can't believe that my baby girl is already 8 years old. I snapped this picture of her this morning. She is looking so very grown-up. 2678

Someone is having a birthday!
Project 365: Jan 3rd, 2009
Dried Mums
Moises bought these flowers in the fall. They are in pots in the backyard. They are withered and dying, but I still like them.

Project 365 - Jan. 2nd
Wooden lion from a house in our neighborhood. There are 2 of them flanking the entrance to a house. They are beautiful. The carving detail is amazing. They always stand out to me because they look out of place. They belong to a house in the country...a manor, not a development-type house. 2651

I didn't forget that I had said that I would post a picture of Kaylie chasing snowflakes. I rather like the black and white with bright colors in just her scarf and hat.
Do notice the white flecks in her hair...snowflakes.
This is my Jan. 1st photo for Project 365. Photo of my Christmas Cactus. First year that it blooms! 2647
