Teacher's Gifts

As the school year comes to an end, it always catches me off guard. Every year I vow that I will start making the teachers' gift early in the year, but it never happens.

I find it easier to make something for Liam's teacher because I have gotten to know her a bit better since I am a homeroom mom. However, now that Kaylie is in the 3rd grade, they don't do as many activities that require lots of help from parents so I don't socialize with the teacher much. I couldn't volunteer to be a homeroom parent in her class because 2nd and 3rd grade celebrate the same events at the same time so I take turns coming in to each class. 9161

Liam's teacher was thrilled with her gift. She told me that she was hoping that I'd make one for her.

Kaylie was quite happy with her teacher's gift. After I was done with the pages for the teachers, I customized the pages with a new title and journaling and printed them for the kids.

Gift for Liam's Teacher/Last Day of School

Bittersweet ending of the school year...saying goodbye to a beloved teacher.

Last picture with his teacher before leaving school.

Free for all water balloon fight. I was the only person excepted out because of my camera, otherwise, I'd have gotten wet. Mrs. deMenezes had just told the class that they could throw their water balloons at her if they wanted to. :) Liam threw it at her, but missed. Then he tried throwing it at Mrs. Trophe, but missed, too, and it burst.

Wow, can he contort or what?!

I also designed a card, to go along with the framed layout. The message inside was handwritten by the kids.

The advantage of helping out at school is that I get to take lots of photos at the parties. :)
I made a compilation of photos ranging from 1st day of school to the last event that we had prior to end of school. I tried to include a picture of all of the children in the class, along with their names. Above is the finished project.
