New L/O: It's Mom's Fault

I really wanted a cartoonish look for this page. I applied a halftone filter effect to the main photo.

I can’t believe how Liam rationalizes everything. We were celebrating Emanuel’s 8th birthday party at Ironwood Outdoor Center’s swimming pool. after swimming for a while, he came out of the pool for pizza and cake. as he was approaching the tent, he took off running, fell down and skinned his knee. he told me it was my fault for not telling him not to run. wow, what an incredible spin! If I hadn’t been there, I’d believe it, too. :)

Journaling on cloud bubble: It is not my fault that I fell down while running. Mom should have told me not to run. I wouldn't have fallen if she had just warned me one more time.

Earth Day Fair 2008 / Life is Art / Michelle Godin

I still can't decide which one I like best...
The crafts table is always of interest to Kaylie and Liam. There are workshops and demonstrations where they watch the crafters spin their looms to turn Alpaca hair into yarn. The best part is that the kids get to try it for themselves, too.

P.S. I loved Kaylie's dress and hat, which she picked out herself. Talk about sweet country charm!

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else. ~Judy Garland

Journaling: Kaylie was very excited about Crazy Hair Day at summer camp. We dyed her hair with glittery red and green paint and used clothes pin to keep the hair standing up. I parted her hair 3-ways. On one side I made a braid, in the middle I made a row of hair standing up (used clothespins) and topped it off with grape leaves. On the 3rd side I made a pony tail. The hair in the back was loose. She thought for sure she is winning the contest. Whether she wins or looses is irrelevant. She did it her way and that is all that really matters. August 1, 2008
